The panel will be in line with year's Commission's special emphasis on the impact of COVID-19 on the different stakeholders and actors working to protect and promote human rights on the continent, including their own interventions and State Parties, highlighting the actions they have taken in response to the pandemic.  

The panel seeks to deepen and inform popular understanding of the African Human Rights System namely: i) African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR); ii) African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC); iii) African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) and iv) the African Union on their contribution to the well being and promotion of women and girls rights in Africa during the pandemic.

Namely the panelists will address and provide recommendations on the Maputo Protocol: effects of COVID 19 to socio-economic; right access to information; right to health aright to education and silencing the guns.
